Meet our founder, Charlotte...
For a long time in my career, I found I was constantly being “volun-told” what to do.
No matter what I tried, I was always assigned more tasks than I had time for, but I didn’t have the confidence to say a two-letter word.
I had big dreams for my career, but I the experience I had day-to-day was draining me. It seemed like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't catch a break.
I was so unhappy with my current situation, that I kept trying to job hop my way out of it.
I thought that every single job was what was keeping me stuck, so I would constantly move from one job to the next, looking for the freedom to make the impact I knew I was made for, & the recognition I knew I deserved.
I kept thinking that one day, far in the future, my career would magically evolve and I’d land the promotion of my dreams, but that day never seemed to come...
After enough years of frustration, I finally realised: Maybe I was the problem. Nobody else was coming to save me; if I wanted things to change, it was up to me to make my career what I wanted it to be... I just didn't know how.
My non-existent boundaries and tendency to people please kept me busy with extra work during all hours of the night. And I finally realised that if I never learned to play the game and say “no,” I’d have no time left to focus on growing my own career.
I knew I wanted more, so I started doing the work to figure out what needed to change.
I checked my ego, started listening to feedback, & opened my eyes to other ways of doing things - improving my relationships, performance & the way I was heard.
Finally - I started to feel more relaxed, confident & rewarded for the work I was putting in. I was starting to make a difference.
Fast forward to today, & having since spent 4 years developing teams & supporting operations across the world for multi-million pound agencies, I can safely say I fulfilled my own potential in my corporate role.
So I know what it's like to be stuck in the middle, full of potential but unable to do anything about it.
I also know what it's like to be the one pulling the team together when morale is low but demands are high - to recognise potential in others & have the responsibility to draw it out, to yield the best performance from my team & have them want to stay!
That's why I decided to use my own experience as an employee AND a people manager (alongside the dedicated training & many lessons I've learned along the way) to help others skip the hard part, the frustration, the worry & self-doubt and reach that potential faster (& easier) than they would do alone.
After building up a successful business in personal coaching & consulting, I created REFLEX to support people-first organisations who understand the value of their employees (& see the potential in them), to develop & support engaged, motivated & high-performing teams - so they can maximise the potential of their individual employees, teams & entire business, too.
